Kiddie stuff

Kids easily get bored with the usual stuff.  Getting them to work on a variety of learning activities can keep them busy and prop their excitement.  Try combining some online activities with their usual hands-on exercises.

Here are useful links that you can try with your kids:

  • Playhouse disney – lots of interesting games and activities of your kids’ favorite Disney character
  • Crayola – allows you to use different writing and coloring tools
  • Doodlebugs – choices of drawings to color
  • Reading lesson – fun reading lesson for free
  • Kidzone - games, puzzles, and stories; with Mother Goose rhymes
  • Funbrain – math games, reading, playground
  • Reading card game - lets us choose level of difficulty, card set; also other games and fun singing
  • Blue’s Clues page – educational; shapes, numbers, letters, puzzles
  • Sesame Street – lots of fun games and activities with the characters
  • Up to Ten – educational site that allows you to select the kind of activity based on the age of your child; shows the skill(s) that are being developed in each activity your choose; lots of activities to choose from
  • Play and learn – lets your kids learn shapes, colors, numbers, and words interactively
  • National Georgraphic Kids – games, videos, and lots of interesting discoveries
  • Barney – kiddie songs with dances by the characters, watch videos, fun games
  • PBS Kids – features characters like Clifford, Caillou, Maya and Miguel, Jakers and many more; games; and coloring pages
  • BBC Kids - phonics, reading fun, games
  • Scholastic.com – we like this just because of the “Clifford” (the red dog) section, which has games that toddlers can enjoy
  • Five.tv – if your little ones like Harry, Noddy, Peppa Pig, and Fifi, this is a good way to entertain them
  • Starfall.com – so far this is the best reading site I have found in the Internet.  It teaches the sounds of vowels and consonants in words and how these words are pronounced.  It has a wide range of entertaining and educational activities and the animations are great.

Below are official websites of our favorite kiddie TV programs and characters:

My daughter and I stay in the house most of the day.  We are always busy with a lot of activities including art projects. Here are some of our artworks:
