Irresistible chewy brownies
April 25, 2007
I love brownies! Yes, the chewy ones. Here’s a recipe, which is a modification of one I got from the Internet recently. Try it and love it! Yum!
Ingredients:
- 1 2/3 c brown sugar
- 3/4 c margarine, melted
- 2 tbsp water
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/3 c all-purpose flour
- 3/4 c cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 c corn flakes, lightly crushed
- powdered sugar (optional)
Procedure:
- Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees C
- Combine sugar, water, and margarine in a bowl. Mix well.
- Stir in eggs and vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir into sugar mixture. Add corn flakes. Mix well.
- Pour batter into square pan and bake for about 45 min or until toothpick inserted at the middle comes out just little moist (not dry).

hi kath!
will try to bake this brownies this coming saturday. i think i have most of the ingredients at home. by the way, yong corn flakes ay kasama na rin sa pagcombine with the flour? parang may konting kulang sa step no.5 like add the phrase “and place/put in the oven” after the word “pan”… tama ba? baka sa dami ng tinatype mo everyday nagkabaliktad yong “a just little moist”. but i truly understand what you’re trying to say.

Hi Ate Belen, thanks for your comment. Yes, you’re right, I missed those steps. I made the corrections already. Note that the corn flakes must be lightly crushed also.
